Default 19 Set Grommet, Blind 90816C-191

I made an interesting discovery about these little suckers while reading through a newly acquired 19-Set Mk II Working Instructions Manual.

Over the years, these grommets have been a common find in the Spare Parts Case and from time to time I would find several of them stuffed into the keyholes of PSU cases. That always struck me as a bit odd since the round grommet did not completely seal the keyhole shapes they were installed in, but beyond that I never thought much more about them.

Turns out, in a photo of the Mk II in this manual with the grill guards and Waterproof Cover installed, these blind grommets are meant to seal the three aerial cable holes in the two leather rectangles fitted to the top front edge of the cover. The spine of the manual is too tight to risk scanning a copy of the photo but I have attached a couple of photos of the grommet and the Covers, Waterproof No. 1 on my Mk II for reference.
