Default Price

Hi all.
Hugh and I got back from the auction on Monday night at 10.30pm. There were many very rare and great items on sale, however prices went through the roof. I missed out on many items as i thought the bids went way to high for me. I did manage to get some ww1 and ww2 German gas masks and Hugh got himself a 1942 dodge ute and a plane for another member. All i can say lads is anything to do with WW1 went for big money, if you would like to know what items went for just ask. For example the Feret went for $ 13,500 and the Bofor went for $4000 these were the cheap items for more prices let me know Cheers Shane

Shane was the Ferret in running order.....if it was that seems good value at that price. Wouldn't have minded the anti aircraft gun.
Regards, Nathan

376 Honour board
122 went for $5250 bought by Hugh Davies
117 went for $2250 bought by Hugh Davies(for a friend)
375 went for $850

I know i bid $3750 and lost, i asked the winner how much he was willing to go and he said double that. Also the collector from Qld bought the Jap gun and said there was no limit to what his boss would pay, he was told to get it no matter what. The ferret did not run but it was a father and son who bought it and were very happy with the buy(were there 2 days before auction to buy her)

Thanks Shane for letting us know.

Cheap for a very rare trailer! I was not sure when i saw it a few years back if it had its original body or not (having never seen another IHC trailer and only 2 others known in existance according to the trailer database- https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...1E&hl=en#gid=0. i`ll need to contact the owners of the other 2 and ask for photo's!), i was not sure given the very flat/minimal/no ribbed sides. I suspect from a few war time photo's ive seen that it might be original but have no proof.

Sure was an interesting trailer (well i think so in my own aussie jeep trailer intriguied mind!) and a good price regardless of the body originality cloud.

Cheers and thanks again,
Ian.

Hi Ian

Mate ill look at the photos i took at the auction and see if there are any photos of the trailer. I didnt give the trailer any concern as i collect bayonets and smaller militaria, however i now have a soft spot for the bofers(still want one and would look great behind the cab 12) Anyway if anyone has one for sale let me know. Also if anyone wants more prices let me know The day after the auction was a farmers tractor day and look what was there

Hi Shane,

No worries mate. If you have any it'd be great, but if not i'll be ok!

I don't suppose you recorded how much the US jeep trailer went for... Probably thousands?

Nice looking Stuart- well worth stopping for a look there!

Cheers,
Ian.
