Default chevrolet 216 crank

I am just rebuilding an engine for my Wire5 truck , and I am taking bolts from a post war 216 engine , but now discover that the crankshaft would fit the wartime splash engine , has anybody ever tried to put a pressure lube con rod crank in a wartime block ? Of course you would have to block the oil feed to the 6 sprayers.
