Default Australian Chev/GMH Question

Question : Did GMH/Chevrolet Australia ever experiment with putting a conventional lend lease truck cab on CMP running gear. I guess it would be GMH's version of the Ford/Marmon Herrington idea. I am told the cab should bolt straight on with minor modification. It would make an interesting project and one that is achievable unlike many other experimental wartime designs. At least the engine would be in its own bay and not in the cab with you. Are there any photos in existance.

Tim

I have never seen nor heard of this type of experimental vehicle. I know they modified the front sheet metal of the Chev to make it easier to produce.

Having said that I bet someone will prove me wrong.

Cheers

I don't know if GM/H ever did official trials, but it seems the conversion can be done. See the Petersen's C60/Desert Chev in this thread about halfway down. The conventional/COE steering changeover would prove the part to think about most.
