Default What is this vehicle?

Hi,

I was totally surprized to see this military looking vehicle in a Nelson BC (very Left Coast-ish communities) areas events photos collection. What is it? It sure looks in great shape so someone has loved and loves it

Default Unimog

A military-issue Unimog, Karmen, made by Mercedes Benz. I thought there was one at CC4 when you were there, or am I losing it (again)? I seem to remember the dawg tied up underneath it, if that's the vehicle...

Someone else?

Thanks Geoff ... I remember about the Unimog and the dog too ... I took photos of them at CC4 (still have pics in MLU of them?)

I'm just blown away that any army type vehicle was at any of those events as there's such a strong antiwar/anything military mood in those parts.

I expect the vehicle was used to transport produce to the event. Wonder who owns it - which is what I'm most thinking about when I see it ?

I know ... but the West Kootenays has a LOT of people very not into and even VERY against anything military, especially people who frequent those kinds of events/lifestyles ... so was surprized, totally, to see the vehicle there (I was delighted to see it and am VERY curious who owns it, of course!!! )

Well, I'm sure that he's known to someone who pops in here de temps en temps, so we may get an ID, however reluctantly.

BTW, regards your earlier interrogative, behold CC4:

There is someone trying to sell a Unimog in this part of the world. I’ve seen it a few times on the edge of the parking lot (facing Boul. St. Jean) of the Fairview Shopping Center in Pointe Claire with a for sell sign on it. Also there appears to be a Swiss flag displayed on the rear end. Dose any one know anything else about this truck?
