The first picture is a 1956 IHC and the second is a 1955 Ford.

Hans, it seems they found a worthy successors to those 1942 Ford/Marmon-Herrington 4x4 trucks!

Default Try this Hans

We manufactured these trucks here in Melbourne under license. There is one 100k up the road if you need more pics.

Default Surinam Internationals

The 1960 edition of the Dutch Militaire Spectator brought a Surinam Special. Page 392 mentions the transport section of the TRIS as having International 3 ton and 1 ton all wheel drive trucks. Also on strenght were 2 International busses. The rest of the vehicles seemed to have been Volkswagens as well as (Dutch built?) jeeps.
Hans already showed us a 1956 International pickup truck and some 1955 4x4 Fords (the successors of the 1942 Ford/Marmon-Herringtons?). Now, in 1960 they talk about 3 ton Internationals. Were the Fords already phased out after five years? Not unlikely, considering the roads and terrain of the country...
What truck would that 3 tonner International be? And what about the buses?
The text of the article comes with a picture of Internationals of WW2 vintage. Confusing. The text of the article might simply be wrong...?
