Hanno, I put this here and not in the for sale section as i'm not trying to sell the carriers, just trying to see if anyone else knows these or other exported LP carriers to the US.

Luke, interesting indeed!

Reminded me of the thread Carriers in U.S. Service - could some of the LP2 Carriers used on Guadalcanal have been shipped stateside?!?

Will have to see if the seller responds with the hull number and builder's details as requested. Those Guadalcanal carriers were NZ-built, and won't have any details stamped in the same location as Aussie carriers.

So, numbers, > Aussie, > not Guadalcanal
No numbers, > possibly NZ, > possibly USMC.

I have to say, it's a very fair price. If those were available here, they'd be snapped up quickly.

Default LP2A in the States

I would be very interested to hear how the Australian carriers got over to the States, as a lot of there own equipment was left behind.
I purchased a South Australian LP2A # 2674, from John Bizal at Midwest Military about 18 months ago and I'm currently restoring it.

I have read a couple of threads on the subject and I'm half way through reading "Combat Officer" by Charles H Walker. He has mentioned Bren gun carriers several times already, but are they Australian or New Zealand?
Passed threads have said NZ carriers, but if they are Click image for larger version

NZ, how did my South Australian carrier get to the States?
Picture of when I got the carrier and current state ( a quick coat of paint for the local ANZAC day service)
