Hi Stephen.

Also one of two types used on the Wireless Set No.52.

I found they are still available if you look for companies dealing in vintage aircraft parts, for private aircraft built in the 40’s and 50’s. A common cowl and panel fastener. They come in various sizes by the way.

Airloc and Shakeproof are two companies that make this item and there is a third company who’s name escapes me at the moment. The part that locks into these are called ‘studs’. These bits are called ‘cowl receptacles’ or ‘stud receptacles’.

Hope this helps.

David

Could these be adapted to suit your purposes?

An aviation supplier https://www.aircraftspruce.com/menus/ha/fast.html
and auto racing suppliers https://www.summitracing.com/int/sea...Default&page=4 https://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS/JEGS-Qua...Id=-1&Nrpp=180
It looks like the auto racing folks are mainly using a system with a wire across the hole that the stud engages while at least some of the aircraft systems use a stud with ears to engage an anchor plate (which appears to more closely match the sample shown from the carrier).
