Default Bruce Parker RIP

I have been just informed by Colin, Bruce's son, that Bruce has died of a heart attack on Friday 09 Jun 2023.

Bruce was a very good friend of mine for more than 40 years. He had just visited me ( 2,3,4 Jun 2023) and showed no signs of any discomfort during his stay.

I'm thinking that he and Geoff Winnington-Ball are meeting up in the olive drab afterworld of MV-ism and sharing a tipple or two.

Funeral arrangements are pending.

Shocked to hear this… Please pass on my condolences to his family. I haven’t had the privilege to meet him in person, but he was a very much valued member of this forum and community. He was last active on the forum on the day he passed away.

Rest in peace Bruce, you will be sadly missed!

Very sad news indeed. Bruce was one of the old timers in the hobby, and I used to enjoy buying , selling, trading and exchanging stories with him. My deepest condolences to his family.

Thanks Jon for letting us know. Bruce was a great source of information and got me really interested in installing the 19 set with amp in the C15TA. He sold me the amp at least twenty years ago when Les Fisher, Brian Gough and I went to his place in Napanee and lifted the body off his HUP. I had a nice long conversation with him at the OMVA show in Oshawa this year. He will be missed. Rest in peace Bruce.

Bruce and Peter Duggan representing the OMVA at the 2022 Base Borden Canadian Armed Forces Day and Airshow. Bruce on the left, next to Peter's Lynx and Peter, on the right next to Bruce's Fox. I only knew you for a short time but you quickly and generously greeted me with a big smile and offered to help with parts for my HUA project. Bruce....you will be missed by many...RIP.

I was just admiring Bruce's work on the HUW windscreen pillar the other day. I was following his work with great interest.

Very sad news. RIP Bruce

Default Bruce

Folks,

My heartfelt condolences to Bruce's family and loved ones on your loss. I just became friends with Bruce in the past few years through our common interests in CMPs and militaria.

He was a larger than life individual with a commanding presence who was never shy at sharing his opinions. I value the limited amount of time that I was able to share with Bruce. My only regret is that I had not met him earlier in our lives.

Please accept my sympathy for your loss, Peter

Sincerest sympathies to Bruce’s family. It’s quite a shocking loss to say the least.
My last interaction with Bruce was but a few weeks ago at the OMVA swap in Oshawa. Always a true gentleman and willing to lend a helping hand to others.

Sorry to hear this. His knowledge was vast. I never met him, but we have had the odd interchange, from time to time, over green things. My respect to and thankyou Bruce.

It is ironically coincidental (or coincidentally ironic) that that Patton reference is quoted, since it was a book about Patton's death which I had given to Bruce was what he was reading when he passed away.

Oh No! He was even younger than I am.

May his memory be a blessing, he was one of the good guys and always worth reading his messages.

The sudden loss of Bruce completely shocked me... Ιt's has been so many days and I still can't believe it.. We had same projects, both C8A HUWs, and very often I was asking him about technical problems I encountered from time to time. Ηe was allways willing to help, and this is what I will remember from Bruce.

My condolences to Bruce's family..
