CMP/C-47 Lovechild
I believe this is an Australian 'C-47' conversion.
Experts will tell me what model CMP is underneath |

Based on the shape of the tyres, 8cwt.
Front hubs and stance say 4x2, also consistent with 8cwt. Arch bar for the cab structure says it was originally cab 11 or 12. |

Stuart, what a great pic, thanks for sharing!
I concur with Grant, but oh my - what a load they put on that poor 8-cwt. I hope it was a Ford, a Chev wouldn't have had the grunt to move the combo... H.

I was on car rally across Australia about 26 years ago and the Royal Australian Navy entered a Maple Leaf truck with the fuselage of a C-47 on it. They struggled across the Outback and desert and still made it in to the overnight stops.
