Peter,

Why do you say "I came across"; it is your site isn't it? Please be straight about the sales site being yours. Are you running a business?

I will give it a good look over soon, I'm interested to see what it offers over other sales sites.

Regards,
Hanno

Default Certainly looks like it.

Not sure I like this sort of advertising.

I don't have a problem with the site itself, just the way it has been 'marketed' in the first post.

Misleading considering MLU is not supposed to be for commercial interests...

Default Sorry!!

Hi all,

You are right – I was clearly overenthusiastic promoting the site.
I hope nevertheless that you will like the site and the idea behind it. Please share your comments and ideas once you have checked it out.

Default Parts from Holland

I recieved my first order of parts from http://www.milmarket.org today.
Every thing was exactly as described, very good communication, items are reasonably priced and very quick deliverly.
I think this is a great place to shop and will continue to do so in the future.
The only down side is they don't sell shoes.

I dunno.... it just seems just a tad odd coming to a well-established site, with a successful advert section, and then direct people elsewhere- to your own site- for the same services...

Well you have to look at it a few different ways, not everyone knows about MILWEB, MLU, HMVF etc. this is like a Ebay site, so non military vehicle people etc might join in/sell/buy etc, this is to be free of Ebay/paypal political correctness etc. As for Peter and his over enthusiasm, well he is Dutch and his English isn't 100%, he still speaks better then some Americans I know...Also if someone has huge lots they want to get rid of, it is a pain in the arse, to update and put listings on every site out there, so one site for auctions and then to tell others about it is easier in my book.

Those are very good points!

I have looked on the site a number of times, and intent to check it regularly, lest I miss something I need.

More sources of parts etc., the better, in my book.

Peter

Nice WS21 - had one of those on my wanted list a few years ago - but interests have slightly changed and now (fortunately) it's not.

I do have the exceptionally rare No 7 PSU (similar to the No 5 PSU for the WS18/38) - it may appear in the next update of Wireless for the Warrior. Unlike the drawings in WFW, the PSU is not the same as the one for the WS18/38 as there oddly no carrying fittings - so presumably either for Sledge mounting - mule/horse carried, or only put in a vehicle.

Hi Tim,

sounds very interesting. Well see it in the next book than. Saves you quite some money not needing a WS21 any more

Peter,
How does your site work?
Do you just supply a platform for people to sell their militairia/vehicles etc?
Or does that go by you first?(commision)
I notice that similar items all have the same asking price, thats why i wonder about the above...

2 tips: the number between brackets doesn't always match the number of adds...example jeeps(12) and there's only 3 adds.
Also i would recommend to split a category into vehicles and vehicle parts...so that if you look for a landrover you dont right away end up with 466 ads to browse through..
just my 2 cents! grt

Default Site

Hi Markwin,

it's free platform I only provided platform, but also have some of my on stuff on it. No cost what so ever also when you sell some thing, no fee to be paid. This will be the mission, free for ever.

Yes the category number between bracket should match the number in the category but it doesn't. It has to do with changing items over to other category the system will not change the number originally in the category. I work on that to show the real number, better and clearer to the visitors.

thanks for asking, if still unclear issues please ask

Peter

Default vehicle parts

Vehicle parts category. We work on to move all parts to Vehicle parts category but is a manual job and takes lots of time (about 1000) so we move every weeks some parts to the new category where it belongs. We should end with only vehicle int the categories like JEEP and Armoured and parts only in the vehicle parts category.

This also the reason why JEEP show 13 but there are only 3 jeep in it. We started on top and moving down through the categories to move the parts over. As result the category item counter is mismatching the real number.
