Default Carrier Suspension Cups

Hi Everyone,

With carrier suspension cups becoming nigh on impossible to find, and another project on the horizon, I got a mate to fire up his new 3D printer and have a go at printing some in black Nylon.

The results are pretty darn good. I haven't tested any "in the field" yet, but threw one around the workshop and it stood up to abuse quite well. The new cups fit very well into my sample suspension unit and suspension ball.

I don't class them as, nor am selling them as a "reproduction" part, as they aren't made from the same material as originals, but should serve well as a modern replacement for a hard to source part.

We are doing these cups at NZ$15ea.

Cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex, I'll start you off with buying 4. Not a big deal, but a start. Give me a call on the bank thing.

What would be you thoughts/advice on riveting and or gluing them? Does the stuff glue? Is it likely to break during riveting?

I'm sure a modern material is more enviromentally acceptable that an asbestos based material.
Good on you Alex!

I’ll give you a bell tomorrow, Red. We’re having a play with the 3D printer to get the material to drill a bit more consistently. At the moment some cups are drilling better than others. Nylon can be glued, but is a bit tricky from what I’m told. Loctite have some products which may do the job. I’ll look into it and get back to you.
