Default Identification help please

Does this look familiar to anyone? Owner Jim Bennie wonders whether they may have come from a flamethrower trailer.

Keith,
They could well be off a Crocodile trailer, the hub bears a striking resembelence to a rear hub on the AEC Matador artillery tractor. As the Croc' trailer was built by Lagonda Motors at Staines, Middlesex and AEC was at nearby Southall this may be correct. On equipment such as this trailer that would not have been produced in large numbers it was often found that available components were utilised.

Default Thanks for that, Richard

I've just called Jim to let him know. Chuffed, you could say of his response.
He's getting VERY interested in this internet thing now...

Here's another thing of interest at his place; a Dodge WC51 with this rebuild plate:

This was done at Oppama which is in Japan. Be interesting to know how it found it's way downunder.

Default And finally... for the moment...

This rather good pair of plates from a Holden built "Lend Lease" Chev.
Love the Khaki colour stamp.
Any help with the "2I-11 number? I assume the H 1975 is a vehicle serial and M is Military, or it might denote Melbourne manufacture.

Keith,

I note the jeep was rebuilt by Stewart & Stevenson. This company was not well known over here until recently when they came into the Military truck manufacturing business in a big way. Lookiing at their website and company history they rebuilt thousands of jeeps, this was one of many!

Chirs confirms these are highly likely to be Churchill Crocodile flame thrower trailer hubs.
