Default First Drive on my project

I finally got to take my cab 12 for a first drive after 2 winters of working on it. I still have to restore the box and do some smaller stuff on the truck but it drove well and I went on a big 4 mile excursion first time out. Unfortunately I have to mothball it again till next winter!
Terry
The drive can be viewed by searching " Chevy CMP First Drive" on Youtube. My nephew even went camo and wore a helmet to add to the festivity ha ha!

Default First drive

Wonderful, Terry - an exciting moment and a real milestone in a restoration.

Bet she was nice and peppy without anything on the back!

Default Sensational!

Well done Terry! Must have felt awesome and very satisfying.

After I drove mine for the first time, I pulled out a beer, sat down and looked at my truck for a couple of hours just to soak it up (completing the truck that is...not the beer)

Looks and sounds fantastic!!

Thanks guys
I hope to have it completed by late 2013 this farming always gets in the way of my fun. It really was a good feeling to go for the drive and the 261 has lots of power!

Turning the wheels is imminently more satisfying than just putting parts back on. Two thumbs up!
