Default Wild guess ...

Could NORM be 3rd or 7th from the right, 2nd row (right behind front row) ???

With those helmets and chinstraps it's tough to see the features properly ... I STILL can't pick out my Uncle Ed's face from the JUNE 1943 group photoe of RWR's, even after now having a photo of him.

Well ... did I find Norm or not?

Karmen

Nope ... not talking to Betty OR Norm, though I DO have a couple of youthful pics of him. I was Just looking at a photo of Norm in his youngster days and came back to look at the photo again ... the one side slightly turned up smile, nose, cheekbones, jawline, and the general "hottie" look (but I must fess up that I wasn't totally sure ... I was HOPING I was correct ...

I can still see that young man in the little documentary I saw with the older Norm.

Well ... I'm quite tickled to have picked Norm out of the crowd, even after my third guess. 3 times lucky, huh?

Cheers Art ...

Well, I found Mr. Schickelgruber, 10th from the left, back row, one after the "extra" back row starts.

Karmen you may be thinking of the showtune "Johnny Get Your Gun". I believe it is from a US stage show WW I. It may even have been in a movie.

Thanks Art ... I wasn't sure what the phrase in my head referred to (be quiet Mark-O ) but associate it with "soldiers" ... something along the lines of "When Johnny comes marching home again, hurrah, hurrah". Soldiers. )

Hmmmm ... new song:

When Jenny comes marching home again, hurrah hurrah,
When Jenny comes marching home again, hurrah, hurrah,
When Jenny comes marching home again
She'll kick off her black caddilacs
And finally get to kick back and relax ...
Hurrah hurrah hurrah

Karmen

Default not quite

The song I'm thinking of goes more like;

"Johnny get your, get your gun, get your gun."
"Put the Hun on the run, on the run, on the run."

Now wait till I put my tin hat on, my head is allergic to flying frying pans.

I believe it is from a show called "Yippity Yappity" or something like that.

As a movie I believe it was called "This is the Army" with George Murphy, Ronald Regan, Kate Smith, Irving Berlin and others.

Of course I could be all wet.
