Default Carrier , 3" Mortar...

I'm on the lookout for the type of mortar baseplate that is proper for the Bren carrier.

The one I have is rectangular, with the spikes on the narrow end, and flat on top, with a small piece of chain, likely to facilitate pulling it from the ground.

When I knocked up the bracket on the carrier I had the loan of the different type of baseplate, closer to square, and with a ridge around the top.

Any leads/ info?

Default eBay UK

Charlie,

There is a WWII british army airborne base plate up for grabs right now. I am not sure what 550 pounds is in Canadian dollars, plus shipping.

Charlie,

Do you have a good picture of the part that you want?

I am doing some travelling in the next few weeks and you never know what I might find 0 if I knew what to look for.

T'anks,

Stewart

Does this thread help:
http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...Mortar+carrier

Are your monopod brackets original?, isn’t the rectangular non airborne base plate correct for a Bren carrier ?

My morning smile ... I believe this baseplate has been offered for some time now, measured in years. The seller uses the word ‘rare’ three times, the item title suggests the part is related to British army airborne . . .

The supporting period image with a non-airborne infantry unit (‘Highlanders’ though ... ).
