Default British Vehicle Registration IDs

Gents,

Is it possible to work out what a vehicle was from its British Army registration, please?

It's a long shot, I know, but I have a reference to a 'Car, Six-seater Utility' with the Brit registration "4566088". Can anyone tell me the make and model please?

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,
From the Chilwell Census List for B Vehicles, I deduce it is a Ford, Car, 4 seater, 4x2 Utility. Contract no. V3935, Cat. Ref. 52. Would be a British built one with that contract number. Census numbers M4564874 to 4566574

regards, Richard

Hi Richard,

Thanks for that quick response.

Being listed as a 'utility', would that be a Ford C11ADF 'Woody', by chance?

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,
Not sure as I would expect a different type of Contract No. if it were Canadian. I would hazard a guess it is a Dagenham built WOA2 Utility.

regards, Richard
