C15 Ambulance 62512
I have a question,
This Ambulance truck (Got to love those wood windscreen frames) a 1a.jpg Has this symbol a2.jpg A 6 point star, under the bonnet, Why? What is the meaning? or reason? And, any leads to a body (any condition) would be gratefully appreciated, Thanks cheers rod |

62512 = C30 4x4 ambulance
Rod,
The ARN 62512 is listed as a 3 ton Chev Indian Pattern ambulance of 134 inch wheel base, ie a 'Truck, Ambulance, 4 berth, Aust No.1'. The type was actually based on the 134 inch WB, 8441, C30 chassis, but the Aust Army defined it as 3 ton with special springing. The chassis number of 62512 was 2844100178, confirming it as a C30. I suggest the door and/or cab is off another vehicle if it is on the C15 now. Don't have a clue about the star - not seen that before. Mike |

Good day Rod,
Did that one come from up the road from me? I just bought a F15 as a spares truck from there. The original ARN on the front of it shows it to be a 6 seat utility, which it definitely isn't. It would be lovely if it was though. I think most of the old jiggers up there have seen better days. Ken

Hi Ken,
As you say, those trucks have worked hard. This one and the other one, a cut down signals van came from further away northwards The cut down signals van (that I now have Grampa's crane on) was in the Brisbane City Council as BCC id is stamped into the tyres and may have been this one (pictured) used by the tramways dept. However at this time I have no way of knowing. Anyone have more details/ARN/history of this council van? Blitz 1.jpg..jpg But I digress from why the 6 point star would be stencilled under the bonnet of cab 62512? Anyone else have any clues? rod |
