Default Radios in 15-cwt CMP wireless truck

Hi

The Canadian war museum has a 15-cwt wireless house type truck. At the present time there is a No. 52 wireless set in it. Does anyone know what radios would have been in the van and at what level - division/corps - the van would have been located. The references that I have found seem to indicate one or two No. 19 sets.

Thanks

Doug

The 52 set is proper for brigade/division level. The rear elements used the higher power sets like the WS9 mk1, 52 set or WS19 c/w British HP amplifier.

More forward units were issued 1 or 2 WS19s depending on role. In 1944 certain trucks that carried two 19 sets had one withdrawn and a WS22 issued.
