Unknown Warrior UK
100 years ago today, November 10, 1920, the body of an Unknown Warrior was repatriated back to Britain. The destroyer HMS Verdun left the French port of Boulogne with the casket and arrived at the port of Dover. The procession left for London via train and the Warrior was laid to rest on the morning of the 11th at Westminster Abbey. His Guard of Honour comprised of 100 recipients of the Victoria Cross.

A hundred years is a long time ago, but we should not forget. If one looks up the event on the internet, you will find statements like "The funeral and burial in London of the anonymous British serviceman killed in the First World War was the biggest outpouring of grief the country has ever seen" (Mirror, 2014) I know some people do not like wikipedia, but at least it gives you a starting point to read up on the event:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Unknown_Warrior LEST WE FORGET
