Default Can anyone help ID this part number ?

Hi everyone and a happy new year to you all!!

I have been given a GMC parts box containing 'Harness wiring front end assy' part number GMC#5278504. I've been told it does not correspond to any US GMC part numbers but could be Canadian. Does anyone have any ideas what it might be for?

THanks James

Hi James,

A quick search of the GMC number reveals this;
5278504, changed to NSN 2590-00-753-8568
Wiring Harness assy.
for 2 1/2ton 6x6 GMC truck
Made by GMC, Packard Electric Div., Warren

As to what model 2 1/2 ton this is, no clue, perhaps it is the post war M Series?

regards, Richard

Hi James,

After Richard's nice quick search about the GMC harness from me
a completion of that. Stock number: 3500-5278504 and Part no:
GM-5278504 let us know: Harness, wiring, dash, assembly (CCKW)
(used with rotary type light Switch).
GMC parts list ORD 9 (15 July 1945) SNL G-508, showed us eight
diffirent dash wirings.
