Albert Speer?!? There’s a name that rings a bell (for the wrong reasons).

Very sad .

I noticed the mission jeep in PNG still retains its ARN 159707 , I wonder if it was transferred to the mission while still being registered on the books, must look up the ARN register books to check this out .

Yep it was transferred to Civil Adminstration Port Moresby in 1951. So at the time of the pics being taken the jeep was still under Commonwealth Admin control ? Also, it has a low chassis nr. it was a early script body GPW .

Appears to be a Willys chassis ..oops, or am I seeing things. It's had some front end remedial work done on the frame horns at least with a heavy channel bumber bar fitted .

Tony, definitely a Willys chassis. In keeping with the early
Fords. There was a guy here in Tauranga N.Z. (Mick Podevin) who had one, serial 1110. Earliest one I have seen. Should be surviving with family in Auckland still, with luck.
