Blitz Crane
Hi Brett,
Great find. Interested to see it restored. Any chance of putting up some pics of the Blitz Crane? Also what would that crane be rated at? (Like sheds, one always seems to need a bigger crane!) Thanks Alex |

Blitz Crane
Hi Andrew and Alex,
Alex - The crane is rated to 1 ton at furthest reach and 5 ton close into the ram. I have attached one picture for now but I do have more at home and I will put them on tonight. I do have other crane pictures if you are interested. Andrew - Thanks for the offer. Please let me know a little more about it. Thanks. Regards,

Brett, I don't know if you were trying to bend the jib on Laurie's crane, but the W9 is only rated to 3 ton!! Compare the construction of the 5 ton CGT version, and you'll see the jib is much lighter.

Hi Lionel,
Thanks heaps for the AWM references and pictures. Surprising there's little pictorial reference to the twin axel and single axel trailers considering the quanities of them made. Still the pictures are of great help . Thanks again. Regards, Brett Nicholls. |

You are correct in saying that there is not much pictorial evidence of the trailers especially the twin Axle 'CMP' type. I do have a reasonable amount on the single Axle semi due to my research into the early years of the North/South Military Highway.
Here is another twin Axle photo from the AWM

Blitz Semi trailer
Hi Cliff,
Oh how I wish mine was in the same condition! I note that the trailer/truck are painted in what looks to be a gloss paint or at athe least a semi-gloss?. Does anyone know which shade of green it is?. Note also how there's no rearward brace on the head board of the trailer unlike other models of this trailer. There is also an under body storage box. Mine has no evidence of such box but also has no rearward brace . Could you tell me what the rack that is on the blitz to the rear of the fuel tank is for? It looks like its for fuel/oil cans. Thanks for the picture. These photo's certainly show alot of detail and also raise a lot of questions. Regards,

Trailers
Quote:
Here are some of the trailer photos I found from the AWM one of them is a semi. The reason I was looking is since I found a supplier for my missing drawbar I thought there was not much point having a hitching point and not actually tow something with it. Are there still trailers available or are they pretty much extinct? Is it possible to get plans for them to make a reproduction from? From the photos I have found the four wheeled trailers were the most common used for Chevy's like mine. If any one wanted photographs of Jeep Trailers it seems the AWM has more of these than anything else - I got sick of seeing the words "Jeep Trailer" Photos ID numbers and URLs Chevy Trailer is P01089.002 http://cas.awm.gov.au/PROD/cst.acct_...orer&bos=Win32 Geni Trailer ID Number: 055464 http://cas.awm.gov.au/PROD/cst.acct_...orer&bos=Win32 Bales Trailer ID Number: 123090 http://cas.awm.gov.au/PROD/cst.acct_...orer&bos=Win32 Cam Twin Axle Trailer ID Number: 122915 http://cas.awm.gov.au/PROD/cst.acct_...orer&bos=Win32 Workshop Trailer D Number: 004227 http://cas.awm.gov.au/PROD/cst.acct_...orer&bos=Win32 One more later Kind Regards Lionel Last edited by Lionelgee; 12-09-09 at 04:05.
