Default Wild Goose Chases

Recently I was given a tip on a military vehicle out in the bush, it was described as;

"like a bren gun carrier, open at the top with steel cable tracks and cleats. In good nick and is a runner, 2 years ago, the motor is a Hercules I think. It's some sort of tractor for pulling things but with tracks... just needs a rub down and a coat of paint..."

The place it is located is 300+ miles from here but I did a bit of phoning around and found the property, owner and then the vehicle.

Have a guess anyone ?

Default rough description

The carrier type thingy is actually a Valentine tank with no turret, or guards, or front armour. Just glad I didn't drive to Hyden for a look. Hercules motor had me thinking American halftrac or similar. This thing is a bloody deisel!

The Hercules is the wobbler, the location, body and track description might suggest an Atkinson Alligator. . . . . . . . .
