Are you talking about the seige lamps? I found a pair at our favourite surplus place, but not the box. When I started hunting for the box, I saw that a complete set had sold on ebay a month before.

According to the handbook for the 25-PR, the case with 2 lamps goes on the stores tray of the carriage limber. In the photo from the manual below, I suspect the lamp case is in location no5.

Over on the gunner.net website, there is a photo of the 25-PR stowage, and it gives the back of the gun trail as an alternative location. I have seen no reference to this position in the manuals, but I suspect that there may be some confusion with the stowage of the spare parts chest for the folding type carriage, which I have seen shown as being in that location. I am, however, open to learning more.

Default Lamp/ Torch for 25 Pdr

Hi Rob,

Are the 'Aiming Lamps' as the guys have posted the ones you were after information on or was it the 'Illuminating Apparatus No.5' with the little electric torches ?

And to further confuse things, what about the lamp that's mounted on the No. 9 dial sight? Jesse

Jesse ,

These lamps are a part of the No5 Illuminating apparatus ,there are two fixed lamps on the sight mounting and one used as a 'wondering' light, so that's three lamps in total .
