Default Canadian Dodge WC-52 information

Hello,

a friend is currently restoring his Canadian Dodge WC-52. Numbers found on the frame:

On the left outer frame rail, in front of the spring hanger: 1152332

On the left outer frame rail, behind the same spring hanger: T236 2387? (? is maybe C or 6)

On the left outer frame rail, mid-portion of the vehicle, behind bracket of running board in 3/4 inch high numbers: 1091483

My friend would like to know if is it possible to trace any records of his particular vehicle.

What would be the date of manufacture/date of delivery?

Would data plates have been brass or aluminium?

Would the windshield glass have had any logo imprinted and if yes, what?

We would appreciate any information anyone might have. Thanks in advance and all the best wishes for the festive season.

Regards,

Joseph

Default dodge 52 canadian

I am having the same problem with mine(wide bodied) I have been adviced march 1944,but jury is out on this one. Unlike the detroit built dodges, there appears to be no existing records for ours.
If you have any luck with yours, please let me know, I have every plate on mine, except date of manufacture.

Hi Galea,
The first number given, in front of the left spring hanger is the chassis number ( I think there should be a 9 in front of this). The only 2 chassis numbers I have areboth from 1945, the first one is 91167301, second one is 91168195, sorry, no idea which month, but it looks like yours could be 1944. Second number is the engine number (T236 is the cubic capacity) 12 Volt electrics and Ball & Ball carb.
The third number is the chassis part number, all plates would have been Aluminium. The 3/4 Ton APT was only manufactured during 1944-45.
If i find any more info, I'll post it here
Good luck with the restorations
Regards
Keith

Default Dashboard layout

My friend has got to the stage of restoring the cabin and dash now. He needs information, preferably a photograph or diagram, showing the location and function of all switches and gauges for a 1944 Canadian APT. You can send any information to me or directly to him.

Thanks and regards,

Joseph

Default Dodge D3/4 APT manuals

I have available excellent reproductions of all three manuals for the Canadian Dodge D3/4 APT: Driver's Handbook, Maintenance Manual and Illustrated Parts book. PM me for details. Also a couple of original parts books. PM me for details if interested.

There was an original parts manual on ebay recently that got to $335 without reaching the reserve. I suspect Brian will make you a much better deal than that.

I could offer to sell you reproductions too, but since Brian spoke first.......

Thanks, I will refer your replies and suggestions to my friend. In the meantime,if someone can help us with a labelled diagram or photo of dash switches and gauges it would be great.

Joseph

The frame number will be on the left front outer side of the frame rail. This is just near the front bumper. The frame number is the serial number. If the other data plates from the dash are missing then the best way to get the correct date of manufacture is to write to Walter P Chrysler Museum to get the original build card. The build card will give you the correct info on the truck.

Also go the command-car .com

There is much great information there that will help. If you have any other question just email me.

Thank you very much Les,
I didn't find any number on frame yet. I will try it egain. I found some number on engine, on winch and some mark on cover of front left headlight. I think it is chrysler ?? company, but I'm not sure. All numbers are on photos.
regards Jiri
