Sump plug size
Could someone please confirm the size of the sump plug hex on my Canadian MK2? I can't find the socket/box spanner I used last time and therefore need to buy a new socket. I'm getting about 2" with my vernier, but it's a struggle reaching it without jacking it up!! Cheers Ron

Thanks Hanno. Today I'll visit my local second hand tool shop and see if he has a 2" socket. Regards Ron
PS. I just remembered that my next door neighbour used to be a lorry and plant fitter for SITA. A 2" socket is quite small to him. I now have access any time to borrow his large sockets and bars etc.......Great Last edited by Ron Pier; 09-09-14 at 10:13. |

Kevin I still maintain it even if I don't drive it much. Normally it starts up without a problem, but I'm guilty of leaving it standing for longer than normal this time and I couldn't get it to fire up. I think it was because it was low on fuel (I only use the drivers side tank). But the continual churning even with new fuel must have furred up the plugs. With new plugs fitted, it fired up straight away. So while I had the engine covers off, I decided to change the oil as well ......Morris's SAE 30. Ron

Mine has never had an oil filter Kev and I have wondered about it? There is hardly a mention of it in my maintenance manuals, certainly not in the standard oil change procedure. I have seen mention of them on here and seen at least one picture in one of my parts books. Were they an add on thing? I do like adding things Ron
