1939-41 Ford Radiator help needed
Hi All,
can anyone help with the overall height, width and thickness of a radiator for the above Ford 30cwt and 3 ton vehicles? The same measurements are required for the Ford Marmon Herrington conversions for those years as well. I have been told the M/H had a radiator and shoud about 4inches deeper then standard. Thanks in advance

don't know if this helps, but i saw this awhile ago. my 41 ford with the marmon conversion uses the same radiator and shroud as the standard 2 wheel drive frame. that's for a standard production cab.there are two different types of radiator that i've seen a early low and a late high style. early one's split and the late has no hole (split) i have both type's if you still need dimensions let me know.

I will measure mine and send you some photos of the shroud Cliff. You are correct they are about 4" taller in the Aussie MH models

when you say that the shroud is 4" taller is that because the fan went from being mounted on the crank, to being mounted to the generator bracket? or does the aussie marmons use a special made shroud? does your radiator sit on the frame crossmember or does it sit between the frame rails and hang down a bit? will post some picts and dimensions this weekend.

here's what i got first the 41 radiator.note all dimensions in inches. overall height 28.75", overall width 22.5", overall thickness 3.125". core height 22.5" core width 21", core thickness 3". 3 rows of tubes in core. top inlet pipes 10.25" center to center. bottom inlet pipes 16.25" ctc. mounting ears 5.5" from bottom of lower tank.

now the 42-47 style. overall height 28", overall width 22.5", overall thickness 3.125". core height 21.5", core width 21", core thickness 3". 3 row core. top inlet pipes center to center 10.25",bottom inlet pipes ctc 12". mounting height 4.5" from bottom of lower tank to first set of holes. it seems like when ford eliminated the hand crank option they shortened the height of the radiator. and the other major change was to bring the lower pipes closer together.
