Default Restoring my 6pdr

Hi guys this is the progress of my 6pdr all been shot blasted and primed and being painted in red oxide, firing pin box is being remade using the original lid and internals as you can see the outer box rusted through new rope tags have been made and will be fitted to wheel rims Drilled out old hinge and repaired

Default 6pdr gun

Thought i would give an update on the gun its slowing going back together new rivets in foot shield in front armour the cradle has been repaired and fitted with new tread in the locking pins on the saddle bearing. recoil mechanism back on new site on few more touches waiting to get hitch from Adrian Barrel.

What is it, does everyone in the UK own at least one artillery piece?

Im hopping to have it ready for the Overlord show in May wear it will go pop hopefully. It has one thing extra it has brackets on the legs i think the Israel army put them on for ammo box's ?

They are, as are those handles on the lower shield flap.

What wear the handles for on the lower shield i thought they wear original to lift up plate? i guess they added them then,

hi just a few more pics to up date on progress waiting for parts box to go back on inner shields armour back on just waiting for Barrel to be finished then it will go back on the first photo has the outer armour attached

Great rebuild. I was so tempted when those came in from Israel, just couldn't afford one, even though they were very reasonably priced considering their rarity. I guess I will have to settle for asking if I can tow Adrians, so long as he is driving!
