Default AFV cable cutters

Anyone have an idea why the LAV's - Australian and Canadian ones have a cable cutter so high up?

To answer my own question I can see an issue cutting a commander in 1/3'rds.

Is that something that happens in other AFV 's?

It's up so high to protect people who are sticking their head out of the top of the turret

Bushmasters have cable cutters up there for the same reason.

Here in Canada we have been sticking them on to everything from skidoos to helicopters. When it comes to the vehicles, it isn't just barb wire you have to worry about. In todays battlefields you have to worry about the guidance wires from TOW type missiles, and of course, the ever present sigs wire.
