Check Slave Cables Before Using
Hi All
Any one buying M series slave cables should be sure to check the polarity matches at both ends of the cable. A number have turned up here in the States surplus which the polarity doesn't match from one end to the other. (Maybe that's why they were dumped) The two that I have seen did not seem to have been altered they were just wrong. The results of reversing the polarity can be dramatic. Cheers Phil

The problem that I have run into is that on occasion the person assembling the slave cable would put the rubber inside out, and it would make it look like the polarity was the wrong way. As a result, the operator (usually a sadsack) would work the cable into the receptacle and short it out. The old 2 pin slave cables were generally idiot proof, but the designer did not account for the level of some people.
I do have a few spares out here, but with the price of welding cable these days, I think they are worth more dead than alive. |

slave cable
Terry I very strongly suggest that you get a nato single pin with the 2 pin adapter, you never know where or who you get to slave you or who you will need to slave , with this set up it covers all the vehicles from 1950 to present, my 2 cents,

I agree with Frank,
The gender bender connectors make slaving anything to anything possible and very safely. R |

Only problem with those single to two pin adapters is they always seem to walk. When I had an MLVW for a MRT, I put that adapter permanently into the slave receptacle. But as collectors these days, aside from the occasional ferret or CUCV, what will be coming onto the market with single pin receptacles? Everything is being destroyed now it would seem. |

Bump - anyone? anyone?
There is one on e-pay for $150 and the seller has something else I'd like to bundle into one UPS shipment.
