Carrier wheels...need advice.
There is a possibility some old gentlemen may be willing to part with NOS road wheels......still in the wooden crate tied with metal straps. Not sure how many...... and maybe a UC as well....waiting for pictures to establish how complete the armour is..... plus side it is all stored inside sheds. Obviously they were purchased initially for loggin operation.... and like a lot of them..... they discovered very early that the UC was not well suited to that task....so they were parked with the spare parts to gather dust.
I personally have NO interest in getting into armour but I am pursuing those strickly for fellow collectors. My concern is paying too much for them ...then being stuck with boat anchors. Because of weight I suspect that the market will be primarily in central Canada. I am also not in the business of buying to resell at a profit. The wheels are in lumberjack country in northern Quebec...... a first buyer would acquire them.....truck them down closer to Ottawa..... then I will purchase them plus gas money for the first buyer and truck them to the barn. Assuming the wheels are unused in the crate....but rubber may be hard and brittle....... What would be a realistic price that you guys would be willing to pay ? I have asked for pictures of said part before concluding a deal but I am not sure if they will be sufficiently detailed to fully assess condition. Boob

we can get wheels re rubbered at a decent rate these days buddy problem is longevity of the rubber... i bought some imaculate wheels off ebay a while back (six of) for £45 GPB.... that was 4 x CTL94 and 2 x CTL17 idlers. The UC obiously a fair bit more depends on condition i suppose.
cheers Richie

i think between £75 and £100 would be a fair price for a nos carrier wheel in the uk but i can't say the same would apply in canada and the shipping would possibly make it too expensive to be viable to the uk, not much help i'm afraid but it might give you an idea.
all the best eddy
