Default Poppy 100 Anniversary

The Poppy 100 Anniversary was today and the Royal Canadian Legion is running a campaign to mark the occasion and I have attached the link.

https://legion.ca/remembrance/poppy-100-anniversary

Does anyone collect the remembrance poppies? I have a few and will start off with the current Canadian version.

The differences I remember were the colour of the centre. Green for a while, now black.

Black and green if I recall...they used to have two pieces for the center.

In true MLU fashion I am taking this on a tangent early on.

One of my most prized possessions on Remembrance Day, when out with a vehicle is this plastic poppy, with attachment loops on the back for zip ties that I had a friend purchase from the Royal British Legion as they won't mail order overseas.

Really sets a vehicle off well and gives the visual statement of the display a meaning

Yes, the centre colour for Canadian Poppies was green and then it was switched to black. As Rob illustrated, a long time ago the Canadian Poppies used to have a green and black centre but I believe this was originally first changed to green only in order to save money on production costs.

Robin, I really like those car-sized poppies and I have one I bought in the UK a decade ago from a Veteran selling them for the Royal British Legion in Charing Cross Station along with this British version.
