Default Challenge for the Archivists Chassis Repair Thread

Hello All,

It would be great if one of the skilled archivists amongst us to find an old thread on truck chassis repairs for me.

I have been searching for an old thread where someone posted up a step-by-step tutorial on how to heat and straighten bent truck chassis. They described how concentrating the heat in one area and allowing it to cool could straighten a bend in the chassis. Alternatively they described where to apply force while the area was hot to straighten the chassis. The thread also included how to make cuts in the chassis to remove cracked areas and weld in new sections of chassis rail. It was all very much sage advice from a very experienced craftsman.

I did find this post however it was not the detailed thread that I had read years ago. Accessed 1st September 2022 from http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...99&postcount=2

Kind regards
Lionel

Hello Hanno,

Thank you for your efforts Hanno. Unfortunately, that is the very same link that I provided to show that it was not the one I was after. Tee-hee!

Kind regards
Lionel
