hello
back at it , dragging some nice units home yesterday
Had to use the chainsaw a lot ,also 200 feet of winch line.

I had all but given up finding trucks like this around here in Saskatchewan.

It has always been Saskatchewan where I found trucks like that. It is the land of honey (at least when it comes to CMPs).

Nice trucks.

A29 Canadian infantry training center was Camp Ipperwash.

The S on the upper front of the door just meant Suppressed (for stopping radio interference. )

The numbers are just the post 1943 DND numbers. The numbers for Army vehicles (but not motorcycles) started at 50-001 and went up from there. Yours appears to be 55-961

I also see the remains of MD1, which is military district one...also Ontario. Copied from Michael Dorosh's site:

No. 1 - Headquarters: London, Ontario

1st Brigade Division Counties of Bothwell, Elgin, Essex, Kent, Lambton, Middlesex, Oxford, and the City of London. 2nd Brigade Division Counties of Bruce, Huron, Perth, Waterloo, and Wellington.

Very nice finds there. Now that they're recovered, what part of Saskatchewan did you find them at?
My HUP came from the Preeceville area as well as a few 15 CWT Fords. I miss those days of chasing down leads and then walking through the area to finally spot the silhouette of a CMP in the bushline. Great times.
Congratulations,Derk

These were in the Kipling area .
Lucky it's been so dry because the F15 hade to come across
50 feet of cat tails and bog.

I think the farmer thought I was completely
Crazy .
Spending 6 hours on one truck..

Default Today's work

Involved picking up the F60 . Which went fairly smoothly with a properly working winch.
The truck looks pretty good out in the open
I also hope they find the doors laying around
And maybe the rear pintle section would be nice

I'm impressed with the tires they are shockingly good and hold air
With dates
I'm going back to get the box , but it is quite rusty , because the fire department used it for a water tank, but it does have everything attached like the front rack and all tool boxes

This truck spent along time at the Broadview fire department in Saskatchewan

I chased elk north of Moosomin, towards Preeceville and Porcupine Plain. And I remember the whitetail season about 20yrs ago when the limit was 1 buck and up to three antlerless. The food bank from Regina had a freezer trailer in town. I've heard the population cycles have evened out since then.

Oh, and nice find! An original box and what seems like little body rot.

Default Rust

Yup the cab is 100% rust free
The cargo box is 50 % rusted away
I can save the box though it's just simple metal work.

I was going to ask if the 3 ton is the old firetruck from the Watson fire department, but I believe that one was a 4x6 truck.
