Without spending a fortune, what is the recommended electronic fuel pump to use for a carrier? Pressure etc? Ron

this might help http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=29156 You can buy a modern electronic low pressure SU style pump , these are suitable for older cars i.e. series 1 Land Rovers, these pumps are made in New Zealand and I have read reports of some bad issues with them, these are 12V pumps but looking at their web site, they also have 6V pumps. https://fuelflow2020.nz/?page_id=74 https://simonbbc.com/fueling/fuel-pumps/fuelflow-pumps/ https://www.onlineautoparts.com.au/p...LM12/ZPN-00888 More reading: https://www.dbraun99.com/Dave%20DuBo..._and_Myths.pdf

Thanks for the tips and suggestions Mike.
I'm running on 12V and I've taken the plunge and ordered a low pressure in line Carter electronic pump from USA..... Fingers crossed. I'll report back! Ron |

Fuel Pumps
I run a small and modern seperate 6V fuel pump between the tanks and the V8 fuel pump. Seperate wire to switch it on or off. Works brilliant.

Ron delivery pressure for the Ford carb max's out at 3.5 psi. more than that and the pump will overcome the needle valve. I suggest using a fuel pressure regulator, if your pump is too high.

Thanks for that Lynn. The pump I ordered has a pressure of 4-6 lbs. I've plumbed it through the original (Redundant) mechanical pump to make it look as authentic as possible.(which might have reduced the pressure at the carb?)
With the ignition on and pump running but without the engine running, there is no flooding of the carb. I only ran the engine for a minute yesterday as it was peeing down and I didn't want to open the roller door. I've been on this job, on an off for over a week now. A major problem has been that my very nice and expensive Braded petrol hoses have succumbed to the effects of Ethanol. Despite buying the lowest to no ethanol petrol and using an additive anyway. So I've had the very awkward job of fitting Ethanol proof rubber hoses. Ron |

Ron, get yourself a Holley "Red" 2 port fuel pressure regulator. They vary in price a fair fit, depending on where you buy from. I think you will have troubles with 4.5 psi delivery? Maybe not, but I think so.
Red= 1 to 4 psi

Thanks Lynn. Next dry day I'll run the engine properly. I'm thinking that if the carb is not flooding while the engine is not running, it surely won't flood when it is running. Ron

Used a facet pump in the past with a “king” filter / regulator bowl with a gauge fitted, I was told to set delivery pressure to 3 PSI however I was using a stromberg carb. The information came via a hot rod emporium in Dorset
