Must be more to the exchange rate than I thought. I sold a 38 set without any accessories for $500US about five years ago. The most valuable accessories are the junction box and the aerial quiver which are both fairly tough to source on their own.

I bought two of them last week for 50 Euro, the two. I was told it was a real bargain by someone else, afterwards. Indeed, heard the same about the junction box and folding antenna....they seem to be hard to find. I have seen a complete one for sale recently....was it Milweb? I believe the price for than one was close to the fugure David mentions.....

Malcolm....you don't happen to have any remaining stuff lying round, like the canvas carrier/webbing?

Ian Durrant at Sentimental Journey in the UK has some of the aerial quivers. At least he was advertising them last time I checked his site a month ago. And I think that Dave Demorrow at alleramilitaria.com is making reproductions of the main canvas carrier for the W/S 38. Not sure if he makes the hook and canvas piece that clips into your braces or not but that one would be fairly easy to fabricate if needed.

The 50e for a pair is a real steal even if they are the later Mark III pattern which is more common on the market. Bet you could advertise them here and flip them for a nice profit as the Canadian and British 3-inch mortar carriers had one as part of thier equipment list.

Default 38 set

It seems the price is definately cheaper overseas. I sold one of my 38 sets, with canvas carrier, throat mic, hand mic, 2 headsets, signals satchel and operating card for over $500 (here in the states), they are definately rarer here than the 19 sets. I have picked up several more and have made a couple of complete sets for my collection. My newest acquisition is a complete 22 set that I am putting together with accessories for my jeep. If anyone needs 19 set or possible 38 set stuff let me know cuz I have picked up a lot over the last few years.

Most of the 38 sets you see here in the UK are the 38 AFV. The 38 Mk 2 and 3 are rarer and consequently make more.

Issah, I could do with a few 19 set parts, I'll pm you a list.

OK,

Saw another mk2 for sale at a Belgian fair yesterday for 350 Euro. It was the wireless set with canvas carrier....no antenna, no headset, no junction box.
