Carrier Brakes
D.V Aldis in Vancouver is No More. I tried to go there Wed only to find out they are out of Buissnes. After some hunting I found a shop in Vancouver that will re do the Carrier Brakes.
Senco brake and Machining . He is a little hole in the Wall Buissnes. He was a former employee of DV aldis but went into Buissnes on His own 30 Years ago. He explained that all the Brakes like many other things have Moved to China . and that Noone these days wants to Bond brake Shoes. He said that Carrier Brakes ae easy beacuse they are Simial to Forklift Brakes. I will see How He did next week. Senco Brakes #5 Marine Dr S.E Vancouver Chandra 604 327 6889 regards Jeff |

D.v. Aldous.....
Too bad if they're gone. Last time I was by there, they had a sign up that they had just relocated. They did a great job last year on my C60 Brakes, pads and drums and they were very good for having in house parts or access to them. Hopefully, the new guy works out. Another great institution gone by the wayside.......Robert

We have similar happening around here as well. Since most brake rotors can be had for $15 to $35, there are very few places left that turn them. We still have one guy in town who does relining and turning. It's never cheap, but it's not like you can order the old Cdn military stuff on line.

Agreed.....
D.V. Aldous did a great job on my unit Rob. They re arched the shoes to fit the rims and took the time to explain everything about the brakes and cylinders. And yes.....they weren't cheap. But in realty....if they're a $100.00 more on a $1200.00 JOB..... IT'S QUALITY OVER QUANTITY! Need I say anymore on YOUR quality of "units" that we've talked about over the last couple of years. Speaks for itself! Hopefully Jeff has found someone to take up the torch! Cheers....Robert
PS: Saw your entry on the M135. How the F' do you manage all this stuff!!!! Regards.....R |
