Hi Max,

Yep, sounds like you do have a GPA engine.

I am 99.9% sure that if an original GPA engine, then these numbers (GPA 9393) will be stamped on the oval pad near the oil filter bracket and that the block will be a GPW block with the 6015 casting number on the bottom (under the genny/starter). I havent paid much attention to GPA stamped blocks as i havent needed to.

Check and post the casting numbers of the block and then it can be ascertained whether it is infact an opriginal GPA block. Or better still/also post a pic of the serial number stamping.

Hope this helped,

PS, i`m looking for engine MB 133550 if you have any others!

Cheers,
Ian.

Ian you are correct the numbers are where you said and the cast numbers are what you said also.

Hope I don't get the GPA bug now as Kathy will strangle me.

'Ian you are correct the numbers are where you said and the cast numbers are what you said also.'

Phew, thats good, memory hasnt failed yet! So yep, i`d say based on what you have said, it is an original GPA motor.

Now the question really begs Max, wheres the rest of the GPA?!!!!

As for the GPA bug, just tack on another part of the shed and hide it in there for a while! Or, if you dont want to keep the motor i`m sure you will have no problem finding a new home for it.

Cheers,
Ian.

What's this about tacking on a bit to the shed to hide things from you know who, who do you think runs the farm, it's only his hobby these days, it makes me angry when I find out his hiding things.

Ian there is probably not much sense in us keeping it if someone out there is in need of a engine.
The engine came with some other goodies we bought a while back and there was another one with number 222209
sounds like I'd better build a shed further out the paddock away from the one who is the boss.

Default GPA Engine

Hi Max and Ian,
Ian's correct that's a GPA engine going by the decription. I would be interested in it Max if you would be willing to sell it . Im in the same boat - I sure don't need to be collecting more but what the hell it's a difficult addiction to quit! I have a GPA and as yet don't have a correct GPA motor. My GPA is 5333 and it's motor is in Trevor Boyles GPA so I have little hope of trying to talk Trevor into doning an engine swap! .
It never ceases to amaze me that there's still lot's of parts out there just waiting to be found or recognised.
Regards,
Brett.
