Rick,

Have a look at this website:http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_home.htm
There are so many different distributors.

Cheers,

Hi Rick,

If it is a Pilot, then that was a British model, so should have a Lucas dizzy. Can you identify the type?

regards, Richard

There is a guy that sells them on trademe. in the vintage parts. A cap is much harder to get.

Thanks Marc, Richard and Lynn for your prompt replies. Marc that site does not mention the English Ford Pilot anywhere at all but thanks anyway.
Richard I think you are right. It is probably a Lucas. The only number I have found is in the cap. FO-420.
Lynn, I'll try Trademe.NZ any assistance will be welcome.

I have attached a photo taken from a current Ebay listing.
( Ebay No.170578136066)
It is not clear but shows that the distributor is about 4 inchs deep not 2 inches like the USA Crab type.
Thank Rick.

Rick,
The Lucas distributor is recognisable by the securing screws, which go through slotted lugs, allowing timing adjustment by moving whole body, unlike the US distributors. The number from your cap does not look like a Lucas marking, but could be from a pattern cap of another maker.
