Today I received an email from Mr. Nuno Silva with more information. He told me Portugal had 29 (twenty nine) vehicles in service from 1947 throughout the late sixties. His research tells him that the numbers listed below are part of S/M 2611 ordered by the British Army.

Their British Census numbers are:
9 vehicles
Z6193022; Z6193136; Z6193527; Z6193941; Z6193946; Z6193951; Z6193952; Z6193956; Z6193958.

20 vehicles
Z6263136; Z6263182; Z6263185; Z6263218; Z6263230; Z6263291; Z6263323; Z6263327; Z6263328; Z6263332; Z6263353; Z6263367; Z6263385; Z6263388; Z6263397; Z6263466; Z6263507; Z6263508; Z6263532; Z6263535.

Mr. Nuno Silva would like to get more information about these vehicles.

Who can help?

Thanks,
Hanno

Among the material that provenance found itself the C15TA, which in Portugal was designated Auto Transport Armored GM 4x4 TT M / 947. The car was usually dubbed 'Grenadier'. As the generality of material sourced from Canada, was considered very robust and very good build quality. This robustness have been among the reasons that almost all received 39 vehicles were sent to the Portuguese overseas territories, which has equipped several squadrons of recognition. 16 copies went to India, 15 were for Mozambique and 5 to Guinea. These vehicles equipped the Portuguese reconnaissance squadrons in India, when the invasion of that territory by the Indian Union, along with the armored Humber Mk.IV .
