Default Command tank radio's

Sherman based command tanks had a 19 set in the turret bustle with the A & B aerials on the turret. The second 19 set was installed beside the hull machine gunner in place of the 17 round, 75mm ammo rack. Would this radio just use the A set, with the tall aerial on the right front hull? I don't think there is a placement for the B set aerial on the hull.

Perry.

The only reference I have run across for this was in one of Bill Gregg’s books where the wireless sets were described as the normal 19-Set in the turret, with it’s A and B aerials, and the second hull mounted set being one equipped with an Amp (19 HP). If that is the case, the hull set would not require a B Set aerial.

Most Command Sherman photos I have seen (and that is not many), as you noted, only the second A Set aerial is present. Which may support the above information.

Thanks David.

This is what I expected, and like you said, photo's are scarce.
