Camo Patterns
What’s the story behind the camo on the left truck? It’s the same type of camo that was on my 1954 M37CDN parts truck. Can’t find it in any reference.

That looks like a BATUS cam pattern. They used some of the Canadian M135s back in the day. Then again, I couldbe wrong. I don't think BATUS used the black in their scheme. Perhaps it is just an early cam pattern prior to standardization of the patterns. Judging by the civilian license plates and the Mobile Command decals, I would suggest the photo is around 1969.

Yes, there are other photos in that series with M37’s, M38’s & M38A1’s all parked in the sand. The photos are posted on here somewhere. I’ll see if I can find them after work. I also recall another photo with the jeeps parked along a treeline. I had assumed it was a trial of some sort to evaluate the effectiveness of that color scheme, but it may have been wider spread in use. Like you, I have an M37 hood with some of these colors on it.
