Default HUW for sale

Other projects make the chance of me getting to this any time soon remote. Therefor, for sale:

1944 Chev HUW (spare tire in place of right body door). Partial restoration, chassis and most of driveline finished, drums turned, transmission, transfer case, axles, linkages etc. rebuilt. New brake cylinders. Uncut body (skin removed...not for the feint of heart) with all doors and correct sliding glass windows. Right body door and sliding roof hatch NOS. Cab roof hatch, doors, seats, cab/body dividing panel all there. No interior bins or generator cabinet (drawings included) but just about everything else...running boards, gas tanks, POW/water bins, fenders etc. etc. Dash restored with original instuments, data plates and GM 'jewel'. Many new parts, head and tail lights. Engine is the original 216 but again disassembled due to a bad through brearing. Located in Southwestern Ontario. $3000 ono.

Default HUW

I see from the pic a round 2" hole in the side back panel just above the right rear tire. My HUW had the same hole in the same spot. Any ideas why its there? Articrized equipment?

Default Don't know

It's a very rough cut on both sides. Very little on the inside except the back of the storage bins. If there was something there it was removed hastily. The cutting bubbles were to the outside indicating the cut was made from the inside, after the bins were removed. Perhaps our HUW's were used for the same purpose? The same conversion?

Oh, and re-reading my first post...it's the LEFT body door NOS.
