The CWM already has a couple of oversnow vehicles which are quietly decaying outside in a field. Little interest there. There is an absolute wealth of material on this vehicle at the Public Archives and some day when I have time I will go back to look up info on other vehicles like the beaver.
The vehicle at the end of the video appears to be similar to the mudcat or muskrat (see Secret Weapons of the Canadian Army pp 114-115) It has the 4 pairs of road wheels as the armoured snowmobile, penguin etc. It looks like the last wheel is just a spare but can't undestand while the return rollers are mounted so high.

Given its rarity and Canadiana, why wouldn't the CWM be interested?
I suggest that is because it is a rarity, did not 'go to war', and did not go into production. While appropriate for a Canadian technical collection somewhere else, it is not sufficiently representative of the Canadian experience of war and war-like operations (which is what CWM is all about), so the allocation of space and resources to such a vehicle by CWM would not be justified when compared to, say, a Leopard 2A5 with a service history in Afghanistan. Just my thoughts ... Mike

That was great footage . As for the Wapiti turning right, it reminds me of my Bombardier Muskegs , on dry soft ground they don't want to turn, but frozen ground with a dusting of snow , no problem. Fourteen feet wide, must have been very hard to move around and transport.

Correction 11 feet 3in wide , not 14 feet, so would fit in the garage without greasing the sides.
