Default Need Help To identify this Engine? APU/GPU?

Hello Gents, Need your help.....

This engine was donated to me with the hopes that I might find any info about it. It dosen't run at this point ( havent tried hard) but looks in good shape but missing exhaust system. Looks simple enough to build but before I do, I would show you first. The engine turns over and has good compression, and it seems somewhat intact.

It was built by Homelite, model# 25d28-1, 28.5 volts, 143 amps, RPM 3600. Has also another metal tag with ' Terry machinery Company ' Montreal/Toronto.

From what I can figure out it looks to be a Aircraft APU ( aux power unit)or better yet a Aircraft GPU ( ground power unit). If so I would like to know for what aircraft it was generally used for? If all else fails i'll donate it to a museum running or not as i'll never use it.

Thanks Paul
