Default M60 platform mount wanted

Am in the process of restoring an Australian Land Rover 88" gun buggy, (106 recoilless rifle) used in Vietnam with an M60 on pedestal.

Am trying to acquire the platform mount that fitted onto a 30cal browning pintle.

The item is available from Crane technologies @ $US95, is an external MG accessory so not a restricted export, but Crane will not deal with foreign customers, or post to Australia.

Default Re. M60 Platform

Hi Dianaa - easy solution, get one of our MLUers in Canada or the USA, wherever Crane Technologies lives, to buy it and ship to you. We are very helpful on MLU and I am sure you will get a volunteer.

Bob

I'll be happy to help if needed.
Could ship it in one of those low cost USPS standard rate boxes.
Would be a good way to help repay the many kindnesses I have received on MLU from the folks down under.
Thanks, David

That's the sort of help I was after!

Crane Tech is at 2301 Aviation Dr. Unit A, Waukesha, WI 53188 so I'm assuming that's the US (such funny names you have up there )

Default Help

Hi Diana - to use a famous quote from Sir Humphrey Appleby from the Yes Minister, Yes Prime Minister series, "We are from the government and we are here to help you".

It may not be a Restricted Import into Australia, but it may very well be a Prohibited Export out of the US. The US State Department prohibits the export of any ex-military item (defined as "unclassified Defense Items") without State Dept approval. In fact, sales within the country can only be made to US Citizens, not residents or visitors.

It's a bit of a nightmare to understand it all, but here's the Law and Law, and the Procedure. Better to read up on it first than be placed on some US blacklist.

I have to thank the forum and members (unnamed - after all big brother may be watching) for a successful conclusion to this endeavour!

I prefer the quip of five countries separated by a common language (CAN AUS USA GBR and NZL).
