Expeidition
Good afternoon!
A friend and I are planning an "expedition" to Ontario, around the early April time frame, to pick up a van box for the 1944 Chev CMP which I have started restoring. I am in need of a roof (preferably with a round hatch opening, but I'll take a square one), the window frames, and a hand brake lever. My friend, that will coming with me, is looking for a Ford CMP front grill guard for his CMP. We will be towing a larger trailer, (tandem axle type). If any one in the Ontario area has any of these items for sale please PM me and I can arrange "pick up". We'd love to come back to N.B. with a full load! Thanks! Craig Tanner Oromocto N.B.

Not fair Craig...... you are not allowed into Ontario unless you bring down a load of the plentiful CMP stuff that you guys keep telling us you are finding....... H*** Jim M. and Mike K. better be telling us the truth....

If everything goes according to plan this unit will be back in N.B. but this would have not happened if it were not for the help and hard work by Chris Vickery and Mark... thanks again.

A breast........
......... or abreast. Got a phone call from my winger Craig this evening from a truck stop about 30 miles west of Quebec City. He was in the midst of a "Tim's break". So far so good, should arrive in sunny Burton about o-dark-thirty local. As tomorrow is an anniversary day we'll postpone the unload until Sunday. Craig has much more faith in that mini-van transmission than I do, especially on the hills on the 185 between Riviere-du-loup,PQ and Edmonston,NB. I'll go see if the Diamond T will start just in case.

SITREP
Craig entered the harbour at about 0300L. Recovery crew stood down. On debrief this aft he said it was a very long trip, but a good drive, approx 1250 km. I had a good look at the wire five box in the day light and all things considered it is in reasonably good shape. On the right rear corner is the remnants of a "Central Command" shield, and on the left rear is the remains of a RCEME insignia. Can't tell which unit, as there isn't enough of the AOS marking left. Much work ahead, but New Brunswick in the winter is the best time to be inside. Craig will send the information off the data plates on the 13 cab that he got from Mark Hutchings in Kingston to the appropriate keeper of data etc. This cab is back where it started, as Mark and I recovered it about 10 years ago, and it went to Ont when Mark moved there.
For Bob C - Last week of Oct in Ottawa, will advise through Rob Clarke. Well as can be - reserve table at Gracie's. Cheers, Bill

Just to end this part of the "expedition" here are some pictures from the return trip and the unloading, which went a lot easier than the loading..... it helps when you have the "kit"! Thanks again Bill.....
