Hey Jon, This is what I can read but is really smudged in places as you can see in the picture.

SW/BD CHARGING NO C5(CANADIAN)
SERIAL NO
ZB/C??/BR ???-??
The question mark I can not read, the serial number to me looks like it was never added, as i can see a faint outline for all the other letters and numbers but the serial number is clean as a whistle.

Your ZB/CAN/BR number is 0183 which is the COC code.

Mine doesn't have the ZB etc coding, it has RCA 101975-501 which is the Manufacturer's code.

Both codes are recognized in the TELS FZ 256/3 manual.

Is it a good assumption that the SWBD is going into the WIRE 5?

Wire 5 nostalgia.

When I joined the RCCS in 1958, I got my Standing Orders (as DCD 404s were called then) on Wire 5 and others before I had my provincial driver's license. Being young and receptive to instructions, double clutching was easy to learn.

Back then, it was mandatory to have a co-driver so that you both could increase your situational awareness. Drivers following could barely see the hand signals from the cab because of the protruding design of the box.

Common reference to a Wire 5 was "Gin Palace".
