Default 86 squadron

A friend of mine, his dad Clem was in 86 squadron . Clem put together this web site before he died , he was a armourer fitter . Clem was also in BCOF in Japan .

Bohle River Aerodrome still exists (just) in Townsville, but it is about to be redeveloped as part of the industrial suburb of Shaw.

Default Mustangs

Apparently the squadron changed over from Kittyhawks to Mustangs . Clem mentioned to me , during his time in Nth. Queensland he learnt to drive in a Ford blitz . Clem kept his armourers bible , a large RAAF publication detailing how to service the guns .
